OMC Launches Regulatory Committee

Oregon Manufacturers and Commerce is proud to announce the formation of our new Regulatory Committee. The committee will provide OMC member companies and their technical staff (including environmental managers, HR directors, etc.) with an opportunity to shape current and future state rulemaking initiatives, and get answers to questions regarding the implementation of new policies. Like all of our OMC committees, the Regulatory Committee will be led by a senior representative from an OMC member company and supported by our associations staff of experienced government and public affairs professionals.

Among the top issues the Regulatory Committee will discuss are: the critical rulemaking surrounding the state’s new paid family and medical leave programs, COVID response regulations, Cleaner Air Oregon, and state agency responses to Governor Brown’s cap-and-reduce executive order.

The committee is intended to complement the work of OMC’s Legislative Committee, which will continue to meet on a regular basis. However, we are hopeful this new committee will become a powerful tool for OMC members as we all work to navigate a number of new and complex regulatory efforts and to involve technical experts within our member companies.
